Weekly Picks from our Music in the Park Busker

By July 18, 2017 No Comments

Our Live and Local busker Jesse Bryant gave us his live music picks for this week. Check out what he’s looking forward to.

Thursday, July 20 – Music In the Park featuring Blues Traveler.

Music in the Park will feature two local openers Socorra and Ben Henderson, who back-up their soulful music with big-time vocals.  Get there early to see both Bay Area acts, as well as myself, who will keep you entertained until doors open.

Friday, July 21 – Mr Paisley, Casey Wickstrom, Survival Guide, and Lungs & Limbs at the Art Boutiki

This looks to be a really entertaining and eclectic lineup at the Art Boutiki:  Mr Paisley brings some loose funk, Casey Wickstrom’s music can be Paul Simon-esque (do a little reading on him and you’ll see why); Survival Guide is a really-polished indie electronic band; then Lungs & Limbs brings some fun, but dark, electro-pop. And, of course, the Art Boutiki is a perfect venue for such a variety of music.

Saturday, July 22 –  Mardi Morillo at Forager Tasting Room and Eatery

Mardi Morillo releases his debut EP, “Love Stories,” at Forager Tasting Room and Eatery, with local acts Israel Sanchez and Drew Storey opening up the event.  Mardi tells raw, emotional stories in his songs and is a huge part of the San Jose music scene.  To really learn more about local music, start with Mardi and get to know his music.

You don’t want to miss these events.  Reminder — check out Jesse before you head into Music in the Park this Thursday.

Jesse Bryant, our Live & Local busker for this week’s Music in the Park, is a Bay Area singer-songwriter who pairs authentic lyrics with funky grooves and an acoustic guitar. Learn more about Jesse on our busker intro post and show him some love on social media.
